Happy Earth Month!

This April, join our Wands for Wildlife team in raising environmental awareness and celebrating our planet by participating in the Upcycle for Wildlife Challenge!

WANDS FOR WILDLIFE RUNS ON UPCYCLING!

Upcycling is a core element of what we do at Wands for Wildlife.

We provide rehabilitators with used and cleaned mascara wands to help wildlife
Create art through the Wand Art program.
Promote environmental education through the Wild Care Program.

That is why we are challenging you this month to create and share innovative ways to reuse items.

What is upcycling?

Upcycling is when you use materials that would have gone into the waste stream to create something new! This allows you to reuse items you already have, which would have otherwise ended up at landfills or recyling facilties. Some examples of upcycling:

Using plastic bottles as planters
Cutting up old T-shirts into reusable cotton rounds
Using old tin cans as bird feeders

We encourage you to share pictures and videos of upcycling with #upcycleforwildlife. Here's how to join in:

Create a DIY upcycled project - this could be as simple or complex as you would like!
Upload a photo or video to social media and use #upcycleforwildlife
Check out other awesome upcycling projects under the hashtag!
