wand collection paused

Thank you for caring about our planet and the wild neighbors that rely on our eco-friendly actions and stewardship.
PLEASE NOTE: the collection is currently paused. Your help is needed to get started again - find out how on the Support page.
Fortunately, we have a large number of wands that are being shared with wildlife caregivers working to save the injured and orphaned animals.
While on pause, you can check with wildlife rehabilitation facilities and zoos in your area to see if they could make use of the wands. You can also turn your collection into Wand Art or see if a local youth group or artist would be interested in doing a project.

What is a Wandraiser?
The organization relies on the caring and kindness of 'Wanders' (wand donors) to send used mascara wands and to raise awareness. When the collection is open, Wanders are asked to send in cleaned used wands, spread the word about the initiative and, if able, make a donation. An easy & fun way to generate support is to do a Facebook Fundraiser - start one now at www.facebook.com/fund/wandsforwildlife/ |
Why mascara wands?
The wands are shared with wildlife caregivers to use in the care and treatment of wild animals. They use the wands in many ways including direct care of the animals and help with cleaning items like syringes. Wands are also repurposed through the Wand Art program, a creative initiative to engage youth and artists with the mission to help the wild ones. |
How can you help? In addition to sending in wands, please

Wand Form
When the wand collection pause is lifted, the form will be available to send in with wands.
Please note, we only accept wand brushes that are clean and not frayed. TUBES: We do not accept the tubes. Find out how to recycle those and many other plastic items through Terracycle. Even better, purchase mascara through a refill program like the one offered through SOSHE. They close the loop and fully recycle the refill's sent back to them through TerraCycle's Zero Waste Program. |
